Marduk "Iron Dawn"

Phosphorous_Redeemer

Im not sure of the limitation, ive heard conflicting reports.
I dont give a fuck what anybody says about marduk, they are my favorite band. Listening to them got me interested in underground black metal. I dont think their new albums, except Rom 5:12, which is a masterpeice, are as good as the old ones, but they are still great. My favorite vocalist is probably Mortuus, but that is because Funeral Mist is also one of my favorite bands. Legion was killer on vocals, so was joakhim. I dont care what anyone has to say about Morgan, or drama within the band, that has nothing to do with me, and people who get caught up in spreading rumors and gossip for attention should just go on the roof of their houses and fucking jump off upside-down.

Look at those fucking potato smashers!haha
I haven't heard this yet, but I love the layout. I personally thin Marduk are awesome as well, and though I prefer Legion on vocals, I think Mortuus really came back on Wormwood. I couldn't quite get into Rom myself, but I really liked Plague Angel.
Anyways, 5 flames for christ raping black metal and for that fucking Königstiger! I have a painted model of one at home(I sort of create dioramas every now and then, it's a bit nerdy). My Grandfather served in the second world war, but that doesn't stop a man from admiring German craftsmanship and engineering. The tank is also a great symbol of crushing forward and creating oblivion.

Thank you, actually plague angel might be my least favorite album, though i still like it (i think too many songs sound the same, like Hangman, Steel Inferno and Blutrache all have the same guitar riff).
As for the tank, i also used to have a model kingtiger, i dont know where it went. It's funny how the king tiger tanks were almost invincible, but they were too heavy to go through fields without sinking in the ground, and too big to go over bridges. Probably one of the weirdest tank ive ever seen though is the russian t-35, a battleship on land which had 5 turrets (link below).
And also, the american armoured divisions WORSHIP german blitzkrieg, and they keep pictures of Rommel on the back wall inside their vehicles. If it wasnt for Hitler and his naps and bad moods, germany well might've won the war.

True, I think when the King Tigers performed their best, was in the campaigns before the take over of caen and the 1944 push to defend Normandy. They seem like they would make a better static defense, but just seeing one of those rolling towards you would still have been frightening.

It's a strange co incidence that you mention the t35, because I actually have a model of that at my house as well....but I never assembled or painted the thing, all the turret pieces confused me,there are no English instructions, so I'm willing to bet it would have been even more complex to fix and keep working in real life.

The Soviet's also had the KV-2(Kliment Voroshilov) which wasn't as long, but it had a monstrous turret due to the fact it housed a howitzer. It looks like a support gun and I think that was it's main function, but it also actually has a turret which is odd. It makes me wonder if it would be used as a tank. Anyways.....don't get me started on this stuff, because I would never shut up.....

I can imagine them having similar issues to tanks such as the tiger, with bridge crossing and wear down of parts, lack of petrol, etc.

haha WWI was Nasty! TRENCH HELL!

Tico Tyrant's picture

WWI really was a mess, I can't even begin to fathom what those people went through. Apparently according to my Mother, my great grandfather(not my grandfather)...or maybe it was my great great grandfather....I dunno I get a bit confused with my families history, none the less,he was in WWI under a small regiment, and he somehow got buried alive from the blast of a shell? or mortar round? and the only thing that saved him was when a soldier passing by saw his arm sticking out of the ground and they dragged/dug him out in time I guess.

I love war stories! My grandfather was in vietnam, and the headquarter where he was stationed at was constantly under attack from mortar, rockets and rpg fire. He seemed to be more fortunate than your relative though. I do have an uncle, whom is known for using a sawed off shotgun during nam, but he does not like talking about his experiences.
War is fun and interesting to us, because we have never been in one.

haha yes, the king tigers died in normandy because they couldnt retreat fast enough, and many of them were stuck, but if Hitler had approved of moving the armored divisions to the french coast during the invasion, they probably would've sank half the allied fleet.
I remember that russian tank, i just call it "box tank" (im shit when trying to remember names, so i make up my own). The soviets only won tank skirmishes due to sheer overwhelming numbers, Germany will always own armored battle history. I believe it was the end of the battle of Kursk, where 5 panzers defeated 255 soviet tanks.

yes,no kidding....and it's a good thing the allies landed at Normandy rather than Pas de Calais, they would have been in a real mess if that had been the situation...think Juno and Omaha, now add steroids. Also, just think of the horrific prospect carried by many brave US and Canadian tank crew men, when they realized that not 1 , but several Sherman's would be required to take out a formidable German tank, even Panthers were stronger than most medium allied armored vehicles.....War is hell and slaughter and on all sides, brave people died, there were also scumbags on all sides, but in the end the technology and events that occurred still capture my interest!

FUCK YES MAN. Marduk are one of my favorite bands and i agree with everything you said.

the only thing i had against this release is the colors haha....yellow and black i find to be a blinding combination

Thanks dude, the color definietly makes it stand out, but its interesting to look at. I'm told that there were only a few hundred copies made, but i thought that was only the vinyl, although i must admit, i havent seen this cd anywhere at any recordshops, cd stores, nowhere.

You know i'm not the best Marduk fan, also i hate this band nowdays, but this remembers me when i had the "Here's No Peace" 7" vinyl back in '04/'05. Damn, Marduk was fucking great back in the day. Sad to say i sold that 7" to get some money... :/
Also a fimiliar of mine, the brother of my grandfather fought in the WWII under german army, with the Spanish "Division 250". He died years ago, but he told me amazing (and fucking hard) histories from that war.

Thats cool about your family member, and you should be proud to have owned Here's no piece on vinyl!

mayhempunk666's picture

hell lets keep the war stories going....my great grandpa was in WWII in the Pacific, my other great grandpa was in the Navy during WWII, my moms cousin was in Nam for 3 tours, my step dad's dad was a heli doorway gunner in Nam, My mom was an Army engineer in Desert Storm and the douchebag sperm doner she called an x husband was in Desert Storm and then Somalia.
