I painted my Metallica denim in 1985
Below that, I painted the words Fall Onto Your Knees For The Phantom Lord in the style of the Jump In The Fire EP lettering.
In 1986, I got way into hardcore, especially New York hardcore. Agnostic Front was one of my favorite pants from New York and still are to this day That is why I chose the NYHC logo and painted over the Metallica lyrics.
In '87, I began managing a crossover band from South Jersey called Denial. BAH! was something that the singer said in one of their songs on their one and only demo, or at least that's what I think he said.
I was totally immersed in the thrash and hardcore scenes. I used to tape shows as well as trade tapes with people from all over the world. One of those people was Bob Yost, the singer from Desecration from Pinole, California. Bob would ask for something for my list, possibly a show that I taped a week prior, and he would send me the latest Desecration rehearsal or show. Bob was super cool and it was as if I was in California watching the rehearsals and going to their shows we traded so much. I even got to meet him in September 87. when I stayed at his house. This was a few weeks after he broke up Desecration. He said, "This is the last song of our last show that Desecration will ever play," and that was that.
