So it's how he'd chosen to spell his name, probably to make it look a little weird and more Misfits-fitting. Like this Mykill Myers rapper. But i can swear to the gods of the north every metal mag here back in the day spelled it "Michael", because makes sense. They probably thought it's misprinted on the albums, and when spoken you ofc can't hear a difference. My-shal-è Gra-veu. It's probably the mandela effect, just like bad american wrote.
