Great photo! Lovely battle jacket.
You son must have been stealing the show mate 🤘😅🤘 Probably a stupid question, but did he enjoyed himself at the show? This was surely a special tour to go to for the first time. I've seen Maiden 15 times since 2005, but seeing Caught Somewhere in Time, Stranger in a Strange Land, and Alexander the Great, was making me even feel giddy 😅
He enjoyed the show very much indeed, thanks for asking.
I wasn’t sure how he would behave but he was fist banging and singing along like a maniac. It was amazing to watch not only Maiden but also my son having a great time. The current tour is just out of this world, isn’t it? I caught two shows this time around, what about you?
By the way, that is not me in the battle jacket, it’s my good friend from Sweden.
It must have been really special to share this magnificent concert with your son 💪 I didn't expect anything else than that your son was going nuts. You can only loose your Maiden virginity once 😂
Having seen Maiden on all their 'history tours', during which they basically (shamefully) neglected Somewhere in Time, I was extremely excited by them announcing this tour. It did live up to all the expectations. For me Somewhere in Time, Stranger, and Alexander were absolute highlights and it really felt I've been watching something really special. Right up there with the whole 2005 early days show, Rime of the Ancient Mariner, Seventh Son of a Seventh Son, and Afraid to Shoot Strangers.
I only went to their show in Amsterdam.
Correction: your Swedish friend has a killer jacket 🤘😅🤘
The shows were exceptional with a near perfect set list, in my opinion at least. The goosebumps were particularly strong with Caught somewhere in time, Alexander the Great and The Time Machine. I just wished they could have found room amongst such greatness to squeeze in The Parchment! That would have been the icing on the cake so to speak.
Unfortunately I didn't enjoy Senjetsu as much as I hoped for, although I have to say that Time Machine and Death of the Celts worked better live than I expected. So for me not so much of a perfect setlist, but who am I to complain? I take everything Maiden gives us at this point. My guess is that they will run out of gas within the coming 5 years so I'm not going to sit here and complain about the setlist. I've seen them on every history tour and I feel absolutely privileged that I had the chance to see them so many times, and that I've seen many deep cuts which they will never play anymore.
Maiden is my favorite band, and they will always stay my favorite band, and although I could do without hearing Fear of the Dark live, I'm not going to pretend that I'm not singing along at the top of my lungs, and banging my head like a mad maniac 🤘😄🤘
Exactly my friend. That’s also
My take on the whole situation with Maiden. They are in the last throes of their career, if we care to admit it or not.
We have grown up with their music as a major part of our lives and it will be a strange old world without them, that’s for sure. So, as you said, we must be thankful and appreciative for everything they do because they’ll come a time when we will yearn to see them just one more time and it will no longer be possible. I
