Various My HI-FI set up

I saw a thread called 'Music Setup / HiFi thread' so I thought I'd post pics of my set up. He's not the prettiest thing but he sounds great. It's been nicknamed 'Frankenstein' because none of the components match. It consists of: Dual CS 503-1 turntable, Pioneer PD-217 CD player, Yamaha KX-W382 cassette decks, Aurex/Toshiba SB-A50 amp, and Dynalab speakers (I took the front grill off to show speakers). The bottom pic is of 2 Stanton STR8-30 turntables and a Behringer VMX-100 mixer which my cousin gave to me. They've both been hardly used and still in their boxes. I want to hook these up eventually and replace my Dual turntable - I just need to find a good cabinet setup to place all the units in.

i guess - it does :D ...my old Tower was 20+ years old! Was still great!! ..just didnt survived my last 'moving to new apartment' ...and i miss it.
Tower dont must be super-new or cost 4000$ :D

Man, my whole system was so cheap. The cabinet, $1, the turntable, $100, the amp, $45, the CD player, $10, the tape deck, $5, the speakers, $65 for the pair, brand new, in the box! I went to local 2nd hand stores and used sites where 2nd hand goods are sold. The speakers were bought on eBay - I was the only bidder. I had to drive 3 hours to pick them up because the seller lived in the middle of nowhere and it's why no one bid on them. I believe, if you see a good deal for something you need, take it! I know most HI-FI systems cost a fortune, but mine didnt and I'm really happy with the way this sounds.

hehe..yeah..atm i try to same. Im checking bin Both ways..where i can get the best for my money.

New on one side..and 2nd hand stuff on the other side..
Ill see where it ends..hehe

In the middle of nowhere? i believe u, since u live in australia..haha there is rly alot of nothing, when i remember right.

I went down the 2nd hand path and I've had no problems. If I had the money at the time, new would have been nice. As I said, I'm happy with the way this performs.

Cheers - I'm looking forward to the day I can hook both of those Stanton turntables up with the mixer but I'm in no rush. It's also good to have spare turntables in case my current one kicks the bucket

Nah, a while ago I was friends with some dude on Facebook. His metal collection was fucking massive and had a whole media room hooked up - all his LPs, CDs, music etc in one room - it was enormous. He listen to his LPs on 2 turntables with a mixer in the middle - I thought that was a great idea. So when my cousin asked if I wanted his tables and mixer, I grabbed them.
