Winter Battle jacket

Edimmu
Mon, 30/12/2013 - 02:43

This is my second battle jacket, designed to be worn over my leather jacket. It fits a bit large to wear without it. The denim was dyed, acid washed, and redyed and as a result it looks really nice. I worked hard to get the color right. I sewed each patch (even the Winter one) with a sewing machine -- I learned to use a machine doing this jacket. I also removed the collar and hemmed it. I'm happy with how this one turned out.

Killer vest! Good work on the color of the denim and nice layout. Definitely fitting the leather jacket.

Looks simple and great, I sense Doctor Death coming to drool over your In The Woods patch

Yeah, I really like all their stuff, but that first demo is insane! Pretty much all my favorite black metal wouldn't exist without it.

Quite a lot of patches I recognise from NWN.
You like Sacriphyx too.
Planning to buy the poster flag?

Yeah, love Sacriphyx. I already got the Western Front die hard and have the flag hanging in my studio. That album made my top picks of 2013, in fact, they landed #4 out of over 50!

Cold and simple. I like this kinda jackets way more than the ones FULL of bands, they just look like brick walls to me.

Yeah, I'm out on those. Thanks!

Looks awesome! What do u mean that u hemmed the collar?

I'll try to post a pick. I cut the seam on the collar and removed it. Then folded it over about 3/8" and hemmed it at 1/4". That way it fits under the leather jacket collar better and doesn't push the back of it into my neck.

Oh, cool. I just chopped my collar off and then cut some off the sides down the front, so looks like a huge V-neck, but fits perfectly under the collar and lapels of my leather. I dont like the bulk it was making under the front lapels/collars, now its pretty flat.

Not so common bands and patches! Really original, man!

Nice simple jacket. Awesome bands and cool layout. But I'm pretty disappointed to see I'm not the only one who got the Idea to sew that In The Woods... patch next to that WITTR backpatch (pics coming soon). Anyway I think I would add more bands on the front.
